I've always loved this pub, which is a standard English pub -- don't expect to order too many exotic drinks here -- with a beautiful traditional interior, and a great patio outside with a view of the Thames and flower boxes. Has a solid selection of beer, whiskey, spirits, etc. Usually staffed by a crowd of friendly Australians.
Next door/upstairs is a posh restaurant that has really outstanding food. -

Beautiful Riverside pub with a good size terrace guaranteed to be packed on a hot summer day. Food is served upstairs, the bar staff are very pleasant. Prices fairly reasonable and the food was pretty good. Try the fish and chips or the beef bitter pie.

Probably my second favorite sam smith pub. The barkeep could have been a little nicer. This pub is very nice, but not as old as you may think, built in 1980. I love the outdoor area with the riverfront views. Really nice spot. The kitchen is closed on Mondays (or Tuesday after a bank holiday).

I've lived in London for nearly 10 years but had never been to Wapping until the other day. It is a massive hassle to get to but the journey is worth it for the Captain Kidd. This is a Sam Smith's pub so expect their brand drinks at reasonable prices instead of the usual pub stuff. The place is situated right on the water and as there was a large group of us our table in the upstairs dining room seemed to be in the best spot with views over to Canada Water and Canary Wharf. The food is good and cheap by London standards, they had Sunday roasts, mac and cheese plus fish and chips. I'd like to come back in summer as there is an outdoor seating area on the river!

Popped by this place not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised by warm and spacious themed interiors and really lovely service. Excellent menu signage indicating what items were vegetarian or vegan, and the mushroom wellington and aubergine/beet curry were both surprising and excellent vegetarian dishes.
